The Tektro R539 is one of only a handful of modern dual-pivot brake callipers which fit older bicycle frames that are designed for traditional nut mounting (i.e. not recessed nuts that re found on more modern frames). This means significantly improved stopping power compared to older brake calliper designs such as center-pulls and side-pulls.
This calliper also has an extra deep drop from a range 47mm to 59mm (medium reach) which allows it to fit most applications
The Tektro R539 Long Drop Caliper is equipped with a quick release mechanism.
Please note: these brakes are intended for installation with a 'nut' mounting. A bolt that goes through the frame or front fork and is therefore often necessary for classic racing frames.
