Zoo Med’s Aquatic Newt Food is designed for aquatic species of newts and axolotls living primarily in water. Feed 3-4 pellets per newt or axolotl once or twice per day. Drop pellets in front of their nose (in the water) for optimum feeding response. Remove any uneaten food after 2 hours.
Captive Care Recommendations
Always use dechlorinated water, use Zoo Med’s to safely treat tap water. Maintain a clean aquarium by using a filter, like Zoo Med’s , and by doing a 30% water change weekly. It is not recommended to handle your amphibian friend(s) as this can cause undue stress. Always wash your hands after interacting with your amphibian or their enclosure.
